2017 is a year of big changes for the Group, especially for the Guadalajara plant in Mexico.
OMP Mechtron Mexico SA de C.V. has excelled in the custom contract manufacturing of electronic chassis, frames, fabrications and electro-mechanical assemblies built to customer specifications. OMP offers a full range of cost effective services including: design & engineering, precision sheet metal/fabrication, and a system of logistics, thanks to SAP ERP to control hardware and component procurement for electronic manufacturing services (EMS). We are an excellent metal fabricator, supporting NPI and high mix / low volume production.
The products’ portfolio of OMP Mechtron Mexico SA de C.V can serve different types of markets, from telecom to medical, to railway. In 2016 the OMP sales and managment departments faced a difficut challenge , but thanks to their efforts, today OMP Mexico can be considered a leader in the mexican and american markets.
This year we saw a growth in sale as and in the manufacturing equipment and technological investments in the Mexico plant. This is due to the some important goals reached with winning new contracts, as well as the ability to build strong partnerships with strategic customers.
During the Q2 and Q3, new CNC machines with different capabilities will be introduced. New milling machines will be added for machining alluminium as well as to work with stronger materials with higher thicknesses. Secondly we will add plasma machines for cutting over 30mm thick materials. We will also add sandblasting machines and CMM, as well as last generation quality control machineries. The Q4 will present an additional step into the die-casting market with the installation of a 120T press; this project will run starting from the current month.
Another project related to electronic integration is still running in collaboration with the american plant. This project will start to take its first results during the current year. To support these activities a new space of 400sqm was set up to host the integration area.
The goal of local and corporate management of OMP Group, in the medium-long period, is to make OMP Mechtron Mexico SA de C.V an independent and competitive company on a global scale, able to serve a wide range of products in different levels of complexity and assembly.
